My Food History
"My Food History" begins with my own personal food recollections and influences, but its aim is to provide a forum for yours as well. Most of us have childhood memories of food. Our mother's meatloaf, a trip to a restaurant with our extended family at holiday time. Places where we bought cider, or picked out ears of corn. An old mill, thick with flour dust, or a market where the vendors gave us free pieces of fruit.
Who first inspired us to try cooking? From whom did we really learn? What travel tasting experiences changed how we viewed the possibilities of eating? Are we actively introducing our children to food memories?
And what's up with Proust and that madeleine...?
