My 50’s Childhood Food History: Sunday Dinner (it was at lunch time)
The triumph of our meat week began, or ended, at Sunday noon, with the standing rib roast served on a silver platter, no less, in the formal dining room. This was after church, with all the family well-attired, ready to sit and stay for awhile. Dad carved. It was a performance.
